Overview

Eminent historian, Baburam Acharya coined the name “Sagarmatha” in Nepali Language, where “Sagar” means the sky and “Matha” means above, for which there is believe that the Mt.Everest is above the sky.

For local Sherpa people, it is called as “Chomolungma”, means the mother goddess of the earth. Everest base camp,  shortly  termed as EBC describes two base camps, south base camp and north base camp from its south and north pole respectively. For the mountain climbers, during their ascent and descent it is used as the campsite,  but for the trekking people, it is last and closest camp to witness of earth’s highest peak.

Trekking from Nepal to the Everest Base Camp is to south base camp, is the second most popular in Nepal. Everest’s daunting summit soars so high that trekking to its base camp is still an adventure of the highest sort. Beginning from the capital of the Sherpa, Namchebazaar, following the popular monastery, Tengboch, we will continue our journey, exploring some heart-praising places to see. This trekking expedition contains many beautiful mountains, stupas, monasteries and rivers.

The Tengboche is very famous for the beautiful monastery with praying Lamas around. During the EBC trek, the trekkers explore the breathtaking view of the Mt.Everest (8,848m), along with Ama Dablam (6,812m), Lhotse (8,516m), Nuptse (7,879m) and many more snow capped mountains. Khumbu glaciers, ice falls and the rugged terrains are astounding.
