Overview

The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek lies in the North of Pokhara, the city of Lakes. The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is one of the most popular treks to the Annapurna.

This comparatively easy trekking route is filled with spectacular view of the Annapurna massif, lush green forests and the gorgeous ethnic Gurung villages. Mt. Machhapuchhre towers above the ethnic village and terrace farmland adding more charm to the beautiful region.

Trekking to Poon Hill gives a chance to witness the spectacular view of the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Nilgiri and Machhapuchhre from a relatively low altitude. This trekking can be done throughout the year but is not recommended from July to August and you can gain much better experience in February to June and September to November. Dense rhododendron forests reside along the trekking trail. Blend in with the locals and enjoy the panoramic view of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Machhapuchre, Nilgiri and Tukuche along the path. The trek is easy and doesn’t involve high climbing making it one of the popular short treks in Nepal. This expedition is designed for people who have limited time to travel and is suitable for all age groups.
