Our Nepal Holy Tour includes a visit to most of the Hindu pilgrimage sites among the hundreds that exist. Nepal Holy Tour begins from Kathmandu, where 7 religious and historical sites have been declared as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
The Hindu pilgrimages in Nepal are mainly devoted to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Ma Shakti and as per the old sayings, the Himalaya is the home to Lord Shiva and Parbati which is why there are several pilgrimage sites in Nepal dedicated solely to Lord Shiva. The name Kathmandu is derived from the word “Kaasthamandap”- a big wooden house built entirely from a single tree. Kaasthamandap is located in Kathmandu Durbar Square, which is one of the major attractions of this tour.
Palaces, courtyards and temples built between the 12th and 18th century are the main charmers of Kathmandu Durbar Square and now the combination of religious and urban activities has given the place a modern touch without destroying the classics. This religious tour also includes a visit to the Pashupatinath temple, known as the holiest and the oldest pilgrimage of Lord Shiva. Pashupatinath, one of the World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu, stands proudly in the bank of Bagmati River in the eastern side of Kathmandu city. Likewise, Patan, Dakshinkali and Manakamana are some other famous places that exhibit the manmade wonders of the Nepali people and fit perfectly in a Hindu Tour around Nepal. The temple of Manakamana, located in the Gorkha district, can be reached with a few hours’ hike or one can ride the cable car and reach the temple within minutes.
Legend has it that Goddess Manakamana fulfills every single wish, which is why hundreds of people visit the temple every day. After the tour around the religious places, a drive to Bandipur and Pokhara will feel like icing on the cake for the natural pleasures it brings to a person’s eyes and mind. This tour is suitable throughout the year and is a perfect family vacation.
