Overview

Kathmandu Circle trek is designed keeping children of the family in mind. The expedition starts with exploring the Kathmandu valley, the most developed place in Nepal.

Kathmandu valley is comprised of three ancient cities of Kathmandu, Patana and Bhaktapur and each city in the valley represent unique architectures and cultural riches with the highest numbers of jatras in Nepal. A 45 minutes’ drive from Kathmandu will take us to Kakani, a hilltop settlement away from the bustle of the city. The trekking part of the tour officially begins from Kakani, where we will trek along a dense forest to Shiva Puri National Park.

This ninth national park in Nepal was established in 2002 and is located in the mid-hills on the northern side of the Kathmandu valley. Trekking to this national park is the main charmer of the expedition as it displays the entire Kathmandu valley in what seems like under your own feet. A panoramic view of the western mountains from the national park adds charm to the trek and will take your breath away. Trekking to ChisaPani, Nagarkot, Dhulikhel, Namobuddha, Balthali village and finally to Panauti will complete our trekking expedition. This trekking route is the most famous one in Kathmandu valley and many local are seen taking this trekking route during autumn and winter.The weather during these seasons is pleasant and trekking friendly making it easier for trekkers to travel a long distance even in a single day.   • Day 1

    This day is dedicated to exploring the cultural and heritage sites of Kathmandu. You will visit the famous Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa, National Museum, and Kathmandu Durbar Square, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage sites. Get lost in the religious and historical significance of these sites while admiring the stunning architecture and artistry.

  • Day 2

    Embarking from Kathmandu, we will take a 45-minute drive to reach Kakani. From there, our trekking adventure will commence towards the Shiva Puri National Park, where we will reach its highest point. This vantage point will grant us a breathtaking panoramic view of the western mountains, including the majestic peaks of Mt. Manaslu, the Ganesh Himal Range, the Langtang Range, Mt. Dorjeelakpa, Mt. Shisapangma, and Mt. Gaurishankar. Our trekking journey promises to be an awe-inspiring experience, surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the region.

  • Day 3

    After admiring the panoramic view of the western mountains from Shiva Puri National Park, we will begin our 4-hour trek to ChisaPani. The trek will take us through lush forests of oak, rhododendron, and pine, where we may spot some wildlife such as Himalayan black bears and red pandas. We will pass through small villages and enjoy the stunning views of the Himalayan ranges. As we reach ChisaPani, we will be welcomed by the cool breeze and breathtaking views of the mountains. We will stay overnight in ChisaPani, ready to continue our trek the next day.

  • Day 4

    Nagarkot is a picturesque hill station located in the Bhaktapur district of Nepal, known for its panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest on a clear day. The area is also famous for its spectacular sunrise and sunset views, which attract visitors from around the world. Nagarkot is a popular destination for trekking, hiking, and mountain biking, and offers a range of accommodations, from budget-friendly lodges to luxury resorts.
