Trek to the holy lakes in the Langtang Region.
This trekking trail leads you through lush rhododendron forest, scared lakes and over 70 glaciers of varying sizes with tall peaks surrounding you.
The three major areas of this trekking route are Langtang, Gosaikunda and Surya Peak and Helambu. Gosaikunda is a holy lake that is worshipped by the Hindus and Buddhists of Nepal and Surya Peak is situated in the north of the lake. The peak is easy to climb, takes around 4 hours to reach the top of it and doesn’t involve any technical difficulties.
You can see a magnificent view of the Gosaikunda from the summit of the peak and breathtaking views of the majestic snowcapped beauties. You will get a panoramic view of Mt. Langtang, Ganesh Himal and the Annapurna massif easily from the Gosaikunda. The trail to Surya Peak isn’t definite and hence you can lose the direction with a very few people walking past the route. You will be passing through the villages where the Sherpas and Tamangs who have different culture and you can get a chance to learn in depth about them.
All you need is to be fit and healthy and the willingness and capability of walking for around 7 to 9 hours every day.
From Kathmandu we will drive for 7 to 8 hours to Trishuli (540m) and then to Syaphrubesi (1503m).
From Syaphrubesi we will trek for about 5 to 6 hours to Thulo Syaphru (2210m).
From Thulo Syaphru we will trek for about another 5 to 6 hours to Laurebina (3910m).
From Laure bina we will trek for about 3 to 4 hours to Gosainkunda (4380m).
From Gosainkunda we will hike to Surya peak (5145m) for about 8 to 9 hours.
From Gosainkunda we will head towards Dhunche (1960m), which will take around 7 to 8 hours.
From Dhunche we will drive back to Kathmandu.
