Legal and Regulatory Registrations:
Office of the Company Registrar (OCR), Nepal
We are registered as a private company with the Office of the Company Registrar (OCR), the government body responsible for registering and regulating all companies in Nepal. Thus, the registration ensures that our company is legally established and recognized by the government. Likewise, the registration indicates that we comply with the rules and regulations applicable to private companies in Nepal.

Kathmandu Metropolitan Ward No. 16
The Kathmandu Metropolitan City office oversees local business activities and services within its ward. Our company is located within Ward 16, so we have registered through the same ward office and obtained permission to operate our business in this specific area of Kathmandu while adhering to local rules and guidelines.
Department of Cottage and Small Industries
The Department of Cottage and Small Industries (DCSI) is part of the Ministry of Industry, which supports small and local businesses within the country. Our registration with DCSI indicates that we actively engage in our community and promote responsible tourism. Likewise, it demonstrates our community engagement, care for the environment, and respect for local culture.

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB)
The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is the country’s central bank, responsible for managing the country’s financial system and overseeing foreign currency transactions. With a FOREX license from NRB, HC Trek can legally handle international currencies, which is essential for a trekking agency to deal with global clients.

Department of Tourism (DoT)
The Department of Tourism is the primary government body responsible for inspecting tourism businesses in Nepal. It operates under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation. Likewise, the DoT oversees whether tourism companies follow safety, quality, and ethical standards in operating their businesses. Yet, we have been registered with the government body and meet all the legal requirements to operate in the tour and travel industry.

VAT Registered
The Inland Revenue Department is responsible for VAT registration in Nepal. HC Treks is VAT-registered and pays value-added tax, following all the tax rules imposed by the government. As a VAT-registered company, we operate transparently, which helps us gain the trust of our clients and partners.

We are affiliated with TAAN, NMB, and NTB, which allow us access to certified guides, government support in emergencies, and the ability to provide international-grade trekking and mountaineering services.
Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN)
Funded in 1978, the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal is a national organization representing trekking agencies in the country. The primary goal of TAAN is to promote mountain tourism and trekking in Nepal. Likewise, it also plays a crucial role in building, maintaining, protecting, and promoting the trekking trail in Nepal. Being affiliated with TAAN provides us with official recognition as a licensed trekking operator, access to a TIMS card, support in legal matters, and helps in networking.

Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA)
The Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) is a non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit organization established in 1973. The organization serves as the national alpine association of Nepal, promoting mountain tourism and climbing sports, protecting mountain environments, and preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the Himalayas. In other words, the primary goals of NMA are to promote mountaineering activities in the Himalayas. Affiliated with NMA, we have access to climbing permits, mountaineering certificates, and rescue and emergency assistance support.

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB)
The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is a national tourism organization in Nepal that is responsible for promoting the country as a tourist destination. Established in 1998 by an Act of Parliament, the organization works as a partnership between the government and private sector tourism businesses. Developing and marketing Nepal, regulating tourism product development, and promoting responsible tourism are key goals of NTB. Affiliation with NTB gives HC Trkes national recognition as a legitimate tourism service provider. Likewise, it helps in marketing and promotion, provides access to updated information, permits support, and offers tourism-related workshops and training.
