Difficulties during Annapurna Circuit Trek Fly out from Jomsom

The Annapurna Circuit with Fly Out from Jomsom Trek is moderately challenging, meaning hard but accessible. The trek is graded to be 7 out of 10 in terms of difficulties. The one and foremost challenge involved in this adventure is its altitude. With this adventure, you will be walking over 5,000 meters. Besides, the daily hike of about 6 to 7 hours on average on rugged terrain is something that can be a hassle to complete. Most of the trekking in this journey is day and steep and even hard to navigate.

Annapurna Circuit Trek

In addition to that, the unpredictability of weather and remote locations are other challenges. Trekking here, you will be getting to some of the remote locations of Nepal, meaning you will have less access to amenities such as medical or anything else. Also, getting high-quality accommodations and a variety of meals is also a challenge you will encounter here. Besides, the off-road paths, chances of landslides, and language barriers also increase your overall difficulties in this journey.

Is This Trek Beginner Friendly?

Yes, the Annapurna Jomsom Trek with Fly Over is a beginner-friendly trekking adventure. However, this trek, with the involvement of some challenges, requires you to be well prepared. A beginner with good physical fitness and mental stability can easily complete this adventure. However, you need to be ready for your challenges. Here is how you can prepare yourself for the trek as a beginner:

Physical Preparation

To enjoy trek fully as a beginner, it is very important for you to focus on building physical strength. You can start by preparing a regular routine. This includes cardio, strength training, and hiking practices. This will help to increase your strength, but make sure you indulge in this training 3 to 4 months before your trekking adventure. Also, participating in morning walks with weighted bags can be helpful. Similarly, to increase your leg strength, you should also do some squats and lunges.

Mental preparation

Your mindset plays a crucial role in completing the trek successfully. As a beginner, you should stay positive, focus on your goals, and trust your abilities to overcome difficulties. You can prepare mentally for varying weather conditions, long walking hours, and altitude changes. Visualizing yourself completing the trek can boost your confidence. Remember, taking one step at a time and staying determined will make the journey enjoyable and fulfilling.

Acclimatization

Proper acclimatization is essential to prevent altitude sickness as you gain elevation during the trek. You must plan to ascend gradually, allowing your body to adjust to the changing altitude. Include rest days in your itinerary, such as in Manang, where you can take short hikes to higher altitudes before returning to sleep at a lower elevation. You should stay hydrated, avoid alcohol, and eat nutritious meals to support your body’s adaptation.

Things To Know

Guides & Porter

Hiring a guide for the Annapurna Jomsom trek is generally recommended. A trekking guide is essential for you as he/she will navigate you throughout the trek. Also, they are well-trained and offer you knowledge of the area while providing support during emergencies. Similarly, a porter helps you carry your luggage and decreases the overall weight of your journey. Having these two with you means you can fully enjoy the adventure without any worry. To show your respect to them, you can also provide a tip of $10 to $100. When booking with us, we offer you one of our experienced guides and porters.

Baggage Limit

It is very recommended that you do not carry more than 10 kg if you are trekking. As we assign you with a proper, he will carry your 10 kg luggage along with the bag of other fellow travelers in a duffle bag. You should only bring the essentials with you. Do not include stuff that is generally not required on the journey; overpacking can not just increase the weight of the porter but also increase the porter’s cost. You are expected to pay $10 per kg for every kg over 10. Aside from that, we also recommend you carry a small backpack with you, including valuables such as your documents, permits, snacks, and even a water bottle.

Travel Insurance

Although travel insurance is not mandatory, it is generally recommended for this adventure. You will be climbing at high altitudes, and getting one helps you cover some unforeseen events. The travel insurance provides coverage for medical emergencies such as altitude sickness or helicopter evacuations. Besides, it will also help you provide security during times of baggage loss or flight delays. If you are getting one, make sure you look after all the best coverage trekking policies. This is generally not included in our package. But if you are finding it difficult, you can consult us; we will guide you.

Safety Tips

  • Always follow your guide’s instructions and stay on the marked trails.
  • Walk at your own pace to avoid overexertion and altitude sickness.
Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of clean water throughout the trek.
  • Carry a basic first-aid kit for minor injuries and altitude-related symptoms.
Dress in layers to adapt to changing weather conditions.
  • Avoid alcohol and smoking at high altitudes to prevent dehydration.
  • Keep your valuables, including documents and cash, in a secure place.
  • Inform your guide immediately if you feel unwell or experience unusual symptoms.

Best Time For Annapurna Circuit Trek Fly From Jomsom

The best time for the Annapurna Circuit Trek is during Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November). During these seasons, you will get beautiful views, clear skies, and stable temperatures. Besides these two seasons, we recommend that you not trek during the winter and summer seasons for safety reasons.

Spring (March to May)

During the spring season, you will get clear views of the overall mountains. Also, the trails are smooth and mud-free, making it safe to trek. Throughout the trek, you will get to witness the beautiful blooming rhododendrons and other wildflowers blooming in red, pink, white, and orange colors. This adds vibrant colors to landscapes. Not just perfect for exploring beauty, this season is also popular for its safety.

Month Daytime Temperature Range Night Temperature Range
March 0°C to 5°C 0°C to -5°C
April 2°C to 6°C 0°C to -5°C
May 4°C to 8°C 0°C to -5°C

Autumn (September to November)

Another most popular season to trek in Nepal is Autumn. Similar to spring, this season also offers you clear views, mild temperatures, and stable weather. Thus, you will get clearer views and better safety. Similarly, the brownish color left during this season is a plus beauty for you. In addition to that, during Autumn, two of the major festivals, Dashain and Tihar, fall. This season is perfect for both cultural and natural exploration.

Month Daytime Temperature Range Night Temperature Range
September 15°C to 20°C 5°C to 10°C
October 10°C to 15°C 5°C to 10°C
November 5°C to 10°C 0°C to 5°C

Summer (June to August)

Summer is the most unrecommended trekking season. Summer begins monsoon together. Although you will get warmer temperatures, the continuous heavy rainfall will make your trekking adventure difficult. The trail gets slippery and muddy, increasing proper footing challenges. Similarly, the chances of encountering landslides are also high. You will also encounter leeches in the lower region of the trekking, which can be a hassle for you, too.

Month Daytime Temperature Range Night Temperature Range
June 10°C to 15°C 5°C to 7°C
July 12°C to 20°C 5°C to 9°C
August 15°C to 23°C 7°C to 10°C

Winter (December to February)

Not a popular season for trekking, winter is only recommended if you are well-prepared. In winter, you will experience freezing cold weather. This can be more difficult for you, but the white snow-covered blankets can be just so amazing to witness. Also, the snowfall you will get can be the most amazing experience. However, due to extreme cold, most of the teahouses in higher altitudes are closed, creating a problem for accommodations.

Month Daytime Temperature Range Night Temperature Range
December -5°C to 0°C -10°C to -15°C
January -10°C to -5°C -10°C to -15°C
February -5°C to 0°C -10°C to -15°C

We loved the cultural aspects too: visiting monasteries, chatting with locals, and sipping tea in mountain villages. The flight from Jomsom was a lifesaver (we were wiped by day 12!) and gave us a stunning aerial farewell. Huge thanks to the HC Treks team for making it so smooth and meaningful.

Annapurna Moments with Good Friends

Reuniting with uni mates was meant to be chill… and then somehow, we ended up halfway up a mountain grinning like idiots. The Annapurna Circuit Trek was everything we hoped for and about a thousand things we never saw coming. Twelve days of jaw-dropping views, unexpected laughter, and just enough challenge to make us feel like proper explorers (though we definitely weren't above doing the 'tourist shuffle' on the tough bits).

That push to Thorong La Pass? Absolute killer but the minute we made it to 5,416 meters, all the huffing and puffing turned into ridiculous grins and group selfies like we'd conquered Everest. HC Treks made the whole thing seamless, think cozy mountain lodges with actual beds, meals that kept us fueled (the dal bhat became our religion), and guides who kept spirits high even when our legs were screaming.

What really made it special though? Those unplanned moments drinking sweet milk tea at sunrise, the way the landscape changed like someone was flicking through postcards, inside jokes that'll still get us laughing in twenty years. If you're even half-considering this trek, just book it. The only thing you'll regret is not doing it sooner! (And maybe not packing extra snickers bars seriously, pack extra snickers).

Who would've thought this city slicker could handle 12 days in the Himalayas? I'll admit I had my doubts, but HC Treks made what seemed impossible totally doable. Our guide was this incredible mix of patient coach, enthusiastic cheerleader, and stand-up comedian exactly what you need when your legs feel like jelly! Sure, Thorong La had me questioning all my life choices (seriously, that pass is no joke), but every breathtaking vista made the burning calves worth it.

Flying out from Jomsom felt like the most luxurious reward after weeks of trekking. I actually got emotional watching those towering peaks disappear into the clouds. If you're on the fence about this adventure, jump off that fence and book your tickets. The Annapurna Circuit isn't just a trek; it's a total perspective shift. And trust me, if I could do it in my 'previously only walked-to-Uber' condition, you've absolutely got this.
