Ever tried laughing at 5,000 meters while eating dal bhat? That was us three college buddies turned amateur mountaineers, wobbling our way to Everest Base Camp with more excitement than oxygen. What could’ve been a logistical nightmare turned into the smoothest adventure we’ve ever had, thanks to HC Treks. Their team nailed everything from our gradual acclimatization (no headaches!) to the surprisingly tasty meals that kept us going. And those teahouses? Cozier than my college dorm complete with yak blankets and million-dollar mountain views.
The real mic-drop moment came when our helicopter swooped in like we were filming an action movie. Going from boots on the ground to soaring over those same trails was mind-blowing, suddenly we could appreciate the full scale of what we’d accomplished. Seeing Everest’s summit from above while still buzzing from the trek gave us bragging rights for life.
