Where do I even begin? When I signed up for HC Treks, a 12-day Everest Base Camp adventure, I expected breathtaking views and sore legs. What I didn’t expect was to make friends for life with seven complete strangers from around the world! From the chaotic energy of Kathmandu to the thin air at 5,364m, we became this tight-knit crew swapping snacks, sharing bio breaks (yep, we went there), and cheering each other through every switchback.
Our guide, Dorje, was an absolute legend, part mountain goat, part therapist, 100% hilarious. That final push to Base Camp? Brutal. But when we all collapsed in a pile of exhausted hugs with those iconic Khumbu Icefall views behind us… wow. Someone actually pulled out a cake (how? Why? trekking magic!). If you’re on the fence about this trip, just book it. I’d do it all again in a heartbeat though maybe after my knees recover!
