The Namche Bazaar to Gokyo Lake trek takes around 9-11 days, beginning at Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) and ending at the turquoise Gokyo Lakes (around 4,750 m). How to Reach Namche Bazaar

Flights from Kathmandu to Lukla are the most popular way to reach Namche Bazaar. The flight covers a distance of about 138 km and takes around 35-40 minutes from Kathmandu. During peak seasons in Nepal, like Spring and Autumn, some trekkers prefer to drive from Kathmandu to Ramechhap, which takes around 5-6 hrs, and then take a short flight to Lukla, lasting about 20 minutes. Lukla, at an altitude of 2,860 m, serves as the starting point of the Gokyo Ri Trek.

From Lukla, the trek to Namche Bazaar is about 9 km and takes 6-7 hrs. You’ll pass villages like Chheplung, Phortse Thenga, Phakding, Thangnak, Monjo, and cross suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. After a beautiful hike, you’ll finally reach Namche Bazaar, the cultural and logistical hub of the Everest region.
