Climb to Bihi Phedi & Ghap

After crossing the Budhi Gandaki River, the trail climbs to Bihi Phedi (2,130 m) and then continues towards Ghap (2,160 m). The name “Bihi Phedi” means “base of Bihi“, as it lies below the larger Bihi Village. It takes around 1 to 2.5 hrs to reach Bihi Phedi from Deng. The area is home to the Gurung and Tibetan communities, where mani walls and chortens mark the Buddhist culture. Continuing to Ghap takes 1.5 hrs, where the trail follows stone steps and a suspension bridge. Ghap is known for its ancient mani stones and colorful prayer wheels, believed to date back several centuries.

Capturing views of Shringi and the Kutung Himal

During the Deng to Namrung trek, trekkers can witness Shringi Himal (7,187 m) and Kutung Himal (6,064 m)-two major peaks seen on the northern skyline. Shringi Himal, also known as Chhuling Himal, rises above the Budhi Gandaki Valley and holds spiritual value for Gurung and Tibetan communities. To its east stands Kutung Himal, a lesser-known but beautiful peak that forms part of the border between the Gorkha and Tibet. The sight of Shringi and Kutung Himal together creates one of the most beautiful moments on the Manaslu Circuit Trek.

I’d done a couple of treks in Nepal before, but Manaslu? This one hits differently, it’s wilder, less crowded, and feels like you’re walking through a forgotten world. Every day brought something unexpected swinging bridges, Buddhist monasteries, yak herds, and those towering snowy peaks. The HC Treks team was brilliant, so organized yet super chill. I was solo, but never felt alone. Honestly, it’s a trek that stays with you.

The Untouched Beauty of Manaslu Revealed on This Journey

Wow, where do I even start? This trek was a game-changer for me! High altitudes, long days filled with adventure, and those remote paths that make you feel like you’re on top of the world. I signed up for a challenge, and boy, did I get one! I joined a small group of five, and we quickly became like a little mountain family. There’s something about sharing the struggle of steep climbs and breathtaking views that just brings people together.

Let’s talk about the crew, our guides were incredibly patient, always ready with a smile and a story to keep our spirits high. And the porters? Absolute legends! They carried our gear with such ease, making it look like a walk in the park while we were huffing and puffing. But the real star of the show? The views! Seriously, Manaslu doesn’t get the hype it deserves.

The trails were quiet, the beauty was dramatic, and every turn felt like a postcard moment.Hats off to HC Treks for making this whole experience seamless. From the planning to the execution, everything was spot on. If you’re looking for an adventure that’s off the beaten path, trust me, Manaslu is where it’s at. You won’t just trek; you’ll create memories that’ll last a lifetime!

Interacting with Friendly Villagers and Sherpa Life

deng to namrung village

Namrung is not just about mountain views-it’s about meeting the people who call these hills home. The Sherpa and Gurung villagers here are known for their hospitality and friendliness. A simple greeting like “Tashi Delek” (which means “Good luck” or “Blessings” in Sherpa) brings a smile, and you can reply with the same words. Most families in Namrung live a life based on farming, yak herding, and running small teahouses for trekkers. You can interact easily by showing interest in their daily life, asking about their crops, their yaks, or how they prepare butter tea and tsampa (a roasted barley meal).
